The upcoming topics in your child’s PSHE/RSHE lessons
Our school is committed to promoting the health and wellbeing of our pupils and offering them a broad and balanced education. I am writing to inform you that, as part of the school’s PSHE/RSHE curriculum, and in accordance with the National Curriculum, we will be teaching a unit of lessons about ‘Healthy Me’ ‘Relationships’ and ‘Changing Me’. These lessons will begin from Spring half term.
During these lessons, your child could be taught about:
· Body changes
· Mental health
· Healthy and safe choices
For further clarification, which outlines the topics and what we will be covered in more detail please visit the school website; Curriculum section under ‘PSHE’ and ‘RSHE’.
These units of work will provide pupils with the knowledge and skills required to enable them to make appropriate, informed choices that will positively impact their future health and wellbeing. Whilst we understand that some of the issues may be quite sensitive, we will be following a very structured series of lessons and using a range of resources and outside agencies, e.g. school nurse. In according with government guidelines we will ensure we only use the most appropriate and accurate information available to us.
If you have any questions or concerns, or you would like to withdraw your child from these lessons, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Ms E. Killeen via 01429 272255 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
