Letter to Parents
Dear Parents and Carers,
The last two terms have passed very quickly with a full and rich programme of events. The Year 6 SATs passed smoothly and students were well prepared for their exams, which they took it all in their stride. Results were very good and we are all proud of their achievements. My admiration goes out to each and everyone of them.
There have been many events that have taken place, including:
Year 2 visited the James Cook Museum in Stewart Park in Middlesbrough. They also had Cleveland Fire Brigade visit them to discuss how the fire brigade has changed since the Great Fire of London.
Year 1 visited Preston Park (Butterfly world)
Year 6 sponsored sleepover – we raised an amazing £515!!! For St Cuthbert’s Hospice in Durham.
Platinum Jubilee picnic celebration for the whole school
Nursery went on an autumn walk to Ward Jackson park and had a tea party to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee and a summer picnic to Summerhill.
Whole school picnic on 25th July 11.00am onwards – please feel free to bring snacks and a blanket
Year 6 prom 12 – 2.00pm Hollywood style – buffet, disco and photo booth. Dress code: smart, casual.
School colours are white top, black or blue trousers or skirt. School provides a school jumper from reception to Year 6 and blazer and tie for KS2 children. We do have a school supplier inside Charles Dickens but please do not get yourself into financial difficulty as uniform can be purchased from supermarkets at a cheaper price. We have lots of spare uniform in school that we would gladly give out to families. Please contact me for further information. PE kits will continue to be provided in school and will be washed on a weekly basis. It would be marvellous if you had uniform that you no longer needed and you brought them to the main school reception.
We encourage all parents to communicate with the school if they have any questions. Please either telephone the school office on: 01429272255 from 8.00 am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday or email email@example.com
We all thank you for the continuous support you have given our school throughout the past 12 months. We have adapted and flexed to meet the challenges that the national pandemic has thrown at us all with positivity and a ‘can do’ approach! We truly value the great partnership we have with you all.
Fond Farewell Year 6
We say a fond farewell to all our year 6 pupils who leave us to start the next stage of their school journey in senior school. They take will them lots of happy memories. We wish them great success and happiness. It has been a sheer delight having each and every one of the children as members of our school family. We are delighted we have been able to give the children some lovely celebrations, gifts and prom to mark the end of their primary education. What superstars they all are!
