Music is a universal language that everyone can access, understand and appreciate. Our music lessons are engaging and encourage pupil’s creativity.
At Eskdale Academy we see Music as an important aspect of a child’s development.
Eskdale Academy follows an interesting and progressive curriculum. Our music scheme enables children to understand musical concepts through a repetition-based approach to learning. Learning about the same musical concept through different musical activities which enables a more secure, deeper learning and mastery of musical skills.
Children are given the opportunity to;

use their voices and play musical instruments with increasing accuracy, fluency, control and expression,

improvise and compose music for a range of purposes,

listen with attention to detail and recall sounds with increasing aural memory,

appreciate and understand a wide range of high-quality live and recorded music drawn from different traditions and from great composers and musicians
